The Met 2023 design competition was based upon the life of Karl Lagerfeld. The brief focused on the use of line type in the concept and the garment itself. This collection was reflected heavily from the ruffling, pleating, and creating implied line through overlapping the fabric. Lagerfeld created garments that were famously business ready all the time; this was a major design choice for this collection.
